Hot Toddy with Charred Orange

In winter, one of the simplest pleasures is sitting in front of a roaring fire with a hot (preferably alcoholic) beverage in-hand. And while mulled wine, spiced cider, hot blackcurrant can all hit the spot, this year, we’ve hunted down something new. A hot toddy with a vitamin-C-packed-punch. Made even better when prepared with home-squeezed orange juice courtesy of Nordic Chill’s ceramic juicer, it couldn’t be easier to whip up.

1/2 cup water

2 tablespoons fresh orange juice

2 tablespoons honey

2 shots of whiskey (optional)

2 thick slices of orange

Cinnamon sticks, for serving

  1. Grill the orange slice for 2-3 minutes on both sides until charred then set aside.

  2. Bring the water to a boil in a small saucepan. Immediately turn off the heat, stir in the orange juice and honey then whisk until combined. Stir in the whiskey (if using).

  3. Divide between two glasses, garnish with the charred orange slices and a cinnamon stick.
